Art aids... Creating waves in Hyderabad

10 December 2010

HYDERABAD: Inauguration of art aids... exhibition brought together the right persons connected with this art initiative in aid of children affected and infected with HIV/AIDS at Muse Art Gallery, Hyderabad Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre. The evening at the sky-bridge gallery saw Consul General Katherine S Dhanani, U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad, Ms. Upasna Kamineni, Vice-president, Apollo Charities, Actor Kajal Agarwal, Mr. Prabhakar Reddy, Chairman, Marriott Hotel and many other VIPS gathering together for this noble cause.

The U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad partnered with People AIDS Initiative and Muse Art Gallery, Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre in this charity show for children affected and infected with HIV/AIDS.

“It’s wonderful to be able to enjoy such appealing art works. But what makes the exhibition so important for me is that it is a benefit to provide services and treatment to children with HIV/AIDS. We all need to do our part to eliminate this terrible disease. The United States is contributing money worldwide, including to affected areas in India. Together we can make a difference,” Consul General Katherine Dhanani said at the inauguration of the exhibition on December 10.

Ms. Upasna Kamineni rightly pointed out that dignity to life is everyone’s right and particularly these children who are affected for no fault of theirs. Everyone is entitled to live one’s life fully and encouraged that regular check up can nip the problem in the bud to a great extent.

Actor Kajal Agarwal was quick to promise her patronage to People AIDS Initiative and said it was indeed honour to be part of such splendid initiative. A. Raj sdb thanked everyone who made this exhibition a reality in Hyderabad in carrying the message for the needy children.

Hyderabad Marriott Hotel hosted the event and offered their gallery space free for the entire week of exhibition and Ms. Vaishnavi, Manager Marketing Communication saw to the arrangement in detail for the visitors. Artists Marudu, Mark and KR Santhana Krishnan were present for the inauguration.
